Pool Rules

Mountainbrook Swim and Racquet Club Rules

General

  •   Please carry your membership card with you for all club related activities.
  •   During inclement weather, the pool may be closed at the discretion of the Pool Manger.
  •   The Pool Manager and lifeguards are empowered to enforce these rules.
  •   No smoking on club property.
  •   All pets must be on leash at all times and owners must clean-up after pets.

Pool Area

  •   Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult or sitter. The responsible party should be watching over the child under 13 at all times.
  •   Running, rough or boisterous conduct will not be tolerated. Persons violating this rule will be ejected from the pool at the discretion of any staff member.
  •   Members and guests are not to engage in conversations with the lifeguards while they are on duty.
  •   No pets are allowed in the pool area.
  •   No abusive or objectionable language will be permitted on club-property.
  •   Trash must be disposed of in trash containers.
  •   Glass containers of any kind are NOT ALLOWED in the pool area. Broken glass in the pool area may result in state mandated pool closure and clean-up. The cost of the closure and clean-up expense will be the responsibility of the member.
  •   Alcoholic beverages are prohibited except when specifically allowed at club sponsored adult events.
  •   The cost of any property damage due to negligence or vandalism will be charged to the responsible member.
  •   No unauthorized person will be allowed near the filter plant at any time.

Parental Responsibility

  •   Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult or sitter. The responsible party should be watching over the child under 13 at all times.
  •   Parents shall be responsible for young children brought to into the pool area who cannot swim.
  •   Children who cannot swim must be within arms reach of the parent or guardian while in the water.
  •   The ultimate responsibility of pool safety lies with the parent/guardian.

Pool

  •   Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied adult within arm’s length while in the pool at all times. Children age of 7 and older that cannot demonstrate swimming ability comparable to an advanced beginner must be accompanied adult within arm’s length while in the pool at all times.
  •   Admission may be refused to anyone with skin abrasions, colds, coughs, inflamed eyes, or infections.
  •   Children who are not toilet trained must wear appropriate swim diaper covers.
  •   All bathers should shower before entering the pool. Parents should remind their children to use the lavatory.
  •   Swimmies, life jackets and other safely attached flotation devices are allowed.
  •   Use of soft toys is permitted when used safely. Diving toys (rings or sticks) can be used with caution at the staff’s discretion. Small toys that may float into skimmers are prohibited.
  •   Rafts and tubes are not allowed during normal pool days. Inflatable rafts and tubes are only allowed on “raft days” and at sanctioned pool parties. Noodles are allowed.
  •   Ball throwing is allowed under the following circumstances. Pool is not busy. Ball is soft like a nerf ball. Ball may be thrown no more than 20 feet and should not be thrown over others or thrown in a way the ball is likely to leave the water.

Splash Pad

 • No rough housing or dangerous play is allowed in splash pad.

Diving Board

  •   Use restricted to swimmers skilled enough to jump safely and swim unassisted to the ladder.
  •   Only one person is allowed on diving board at a time. The next person must wait until the diver has gone off before climbing onto the board. Upon entering the water, proceed immediately to the nearest ladder. The next diver may go when the swimmer reaches the ladder.
  •   No one is allowed more than one bounce per dive off the diving board..

Parking Lot

  •   Members shall drive slowly in the driveway and parking area. All bicycles are to be parked in the prescribed area.
  •   Skateboarding is not allowed in the club parking lot area.

Guests

 Guests will be admitted only when accompanied by a member of Mountainbrook Swim and Racquet and must leave when the member leaves.
 Club and guest fees are paid on your account using the prepaid guest passes.
 The weekday fee is $3.00. Weekend and Holiday fee is $5.00 for all guests.
 In town guest may visit the club 3 times maximum per season.
 Each member is responsible for their guests.
 Members may bring up to 10 guests per family maximum per day. Over 10 guest MUST book a party to ensure we have enough life guards on staff. If you plan to bring 5-10 guests you must get approval, please email us for approval.

Tennis

  •   Tennis courts are to be used for official club events or tennis related activities only.
  •   Shirts, shoes, and dry clothes required.
  •   Only Mountainbrook/RDU Approved Pro(s) are allowed to give lessons or clinics.
  •   Non-tennis activities like wall ball, skateboarding, soccer, and dog training are not permitted.
  •   No animals are allowed on the courts.
  •   Online court reservations should be made for all tennis court use.
